Newest Info from GOA Texas The US Postal Service saves the day – ship cheaper, faster insured and you can still boycott UPS !!
If you’re not aware of teh change that took place immediately after the UPS ban on handgun surface shipments. – RPS which was offering handgun surface shipment until the day UPS stopped all handgun shipment, indicating long guns only would be handled by their parent company FedEx. Airborne went to a “no guns of any kind” policy. I wonder if everyone realizes that if these wonderful people move one more click, there will be no way to ship or receive a firearm of any type in the US – effectively banning all guns, and achieving a Executive Branch agenda without the hassle of dealing with voters. If you think you’ve had enough, might want to send a note to Chris Stark at GOA Texas, and see how he’s doing in his preliminary research into litigation against UPS and FedEx.
Interestingly enough – Congress is busy modifying the 1878 Posse Comitatus Act in a way that would permit US military from joining federal authorities and local police in cases of civil insurrection. Wonder why a President extends clemency to convicted terrorists, dismantles the US military, but needs build a defense against US citizens ? I always get a little suspicious when gun owners and the ACLU are concerned about the same piece of legislative action.
This past week, three organizations took a huge swipe at gun owners and gun ownership, and I never heard more than a whimper from any organization other than Chris Stark, Director of the GUN OWNERS ALLIANCE.
Colt basically got rid of a bunch of obsolete and poor performing firearm product lines, and jacked up the price on their chrome plated collectors toys by a minimum of 6%. They then dumped on gun owners by suggesting Colt needed to take these actions to become a responsible part of society and impede the flow of guns into the market place. Colt then went on to once again push their vaporware smart gun technology, which the focal point of how much government research funding ?

UPS’s solution to ineffective UPS management and control of high value theft, is to force handgun shipments via expedited air service only, reportedly to give their employees less time to steal, and coincidentally make four times the surface delivery revenue from handgun shipments. Where else could a company fail it’s customers so badly in the control of theft, not fix the problem, and stiff victimized customers as a solution ? Perhaps we are just seeing a large company use its economic advantage to force social and political policy.

Glock. For all those guys out there sporting a beer belly and a nice new Glock, at the promoted Glock meets, wearing Glock caps, underwear and T-shirts – the Glock folks suggested the UPS change was a good move and that it was easy to cover by passing along the cost to their dealers and, subsequently, to their customers. Hee Haw.
Is it possible to live without a Colt firearm for 60 days ? Is it possible to request delivery through any other means than UPS for 60 days ? Is it possible to use an alternative to UPS for 60 days ? Is Glock really that special that they can be so humiliating to customers and not be held accountable for 60 days ? Collectively, we are financing gun control and we’re going to lose it all if we don’t dig in. There is no organization out there that is going to act in our best interest, and the best weapon for us individually is to withhold money.
The company I work for was nice enough to stop using UPS for any deliveries and to notify vendors they would not accept UPS shipments. As of this afternoon, three associated business have done the same. Each sent a letter to UPS to explain their position. Their complaint had nothing to do with firearms, it had to do with UPS abusing its market position to forward a social and political agenda, and to attempt to deny people rights guaranteed under the Constitution. Isn’t there more we can be doing ?
Below are alternative companies that provide surface and or air handgun delivery. I’d like to thank Chris Stark for taking a leadership role in getting this information out on his list. If anyone has more, please advise and I’ll be glad to post them.
Note: Since this message, RPS has discontinued handgun service as has Airborne. For those of you who wondered what it would be like to live in the old Soviet Union and have no personal freedom, I bring you the Clinton Whitehouse. FedEx is still an option at this time.
Federal Express 1-800-GoFedEx (1-800-463-3339) for customer information. Offers two and three day delivery options that would be more economical than UPS next day. Fed Ex is a subsidiary of FDX Corp.
Thanks
