11/14/2024 – I am just finishing downloading the balance of my pages on Facebook onto a 64 GB thumb drive. I am not sure why, because I will doubtlessly format the thumb drive when the task is completed. And then I will delete all of my Facebook pages. These actions are part of a larger experiment.
The theory has been extended, that Facebook page owners physically dissolve when they remove themselves from social media. In any event, the handful of people I actually know, beyond courtesy “Friending”, know where to find me in human or puddle form. In the meantime, winter prep is fully and frantically underway.
Garage Tetras
From a distance, this doesn’t look like to stowing dilemma. An illusion created by keeping the garage lights out while taking a picture, which hides roll boxes, roll racks, and the fact I had already moved all of the tractor implements and attachments to the backyard tree line. Even as pictured, if I forced the tractor in, either the truck or motorcycles popped out.
It’s like cleaning out the refrigerator…
Weed/grass killer, grass seed, fertilizer, bird feed; all expiration dates that classified them as mid century modern. Then there were spark plugs for a 1968 Cobra Jet, an oil filter and camshaft for 1992 Corvette, a carburetor for a lawn mower… I have not owned for fifteen years, mag wheels with tires mounted for a 1968 Chevelle… I don’t remember owning one, and floor mats for a 1996 Porsche Cabriolet. I do remember the latter. The owner’s manual, and payment trauma, are all that remain of a 1998 Ferrari F355.
It was difficult removing all or most of these items, clearing all of the shelves and consolidating roll boxes. And it wasn’t easy to hand truck them across the driveway to the garden shed for safekeeping until they could be properly disposed… schedule and eBay permitting.
Results? I’ve had a few…
All set for winter. I’m sure you’re thinking what I’m thinking. Plenty of room for a small fishing boat, right?
I’ve not forgotten about firearms. I am currently working in a factory pre release piece that should be an announced product early or mid December.
Quite the winter armada and reminds me of some of the reasons that I left central New York State for North Carolina when I retired. It was sort of fun when I was younger, bucking those 3 foot drifts with my 8HP snowblower, but eventually it lost it’s charm.
My best to you Sir!
Leland
Thank you, Leland. Yup, one of these days I’ll arrive at your conclusion.
Joe
Joe, I see you have the snow removal equipment in the ready position. Apparently, you got rid of of your 4 door Ford. The Chevy pick up will do anything you need to do for transportation. How do you keep the John Deere so clean? I’m looking forward to your review on the Ruger 10 mm carbine. I acquired mine on 10/2/24 and have already run 1000 rounds through it, all handloads. Take care, Bob!
The Ford is still around, for now. It is actually in the process of being sold. The truck is more suitable for most everything, except parking in small parking spaces.
I actually declined reviewing the 10mm Carbine. Excellent combination, no doubt the best of that model, just a redundant assignment for me.
Joe
Joe , I ‘m about to embark on the same voyage, now that the leaves are handled it’s time to pull all lawn mowers out then both snowblowers and put them back in reverse order. Snow could happen anytime now.
Yup, that time of the year for the equipment rotation routine. You can only hold onto fall for so long, before snow drifts force reality. Hope you have an easy winter.
Joe
Joe you are correct about the Ruger 10mm carbine. One only has to review your article on the 45 Carbine and replace the .45 with 10mm. Bob!
