The Real Guns site is now running on it’s own Internet lines, bandwidth and server equipment within the NewsGuy service domain. The move was suppose to be transparent, but things don’t always go the way they were intended. While I’m sure there are a few lumps and divots to clear, the move should ultimately offer opportunities for extended features and content.
Most the past few days have been spent fixing pages, even found the original graphics for article #1, and cleaning up old headers and link references. That part seems to have gone fairly well.
I removed the bulletin board, the initial trial period resulted in 90% politics, 10% guns, and most of that 10% were questions that received no answers. Not sure what that experiment means, other than I get a lot of e-mail, much of which requests no public posting out of the author’s fear of seeming foolish or not subject knowledgeable. Not sure what that’s all about, those issues never stopped me from putting up the site.
From a political standpoint, I’m sure we all pursue what our conscience dictates. Eventually there has to be some place dedicated not to self defense, second amendment rights, or the Constitution, but rather only information relating to sporting arms. I’m hoping in an eventually Real Guns will make a small contribution toward that goal. I will continue providing the newsgroups dedicated to gun legislation and pro gun ownership information.
There will be quite a lot of test software running on the systems over this weekend, so please bare with me while we get set up. Should be all clear on Monday with normal access performance.
Thanks
Joe
